柳宗理 和食器シリーズ 湯呑み 古白磁 染付紋・渦 / Sori Yanagi Teacup
1975年、柳宗理が普段使いの和食器としてデザインしました。
和食のための器として手がけられた、柳にとって最初の和食器シリーズです。
時代とともに生産工場の変化による改良を重ねてきたこのシリーズは、
柳の当初の想いに立ち返り、柳工業デザイン研究所の監修のもと、2022年に復刻されました。
器にあしらわれた重なり合う円のモチーフは、徳島・鳴門の渦潮をイメージしたものです。
The Japanese Tableware Series was designed by Sori Yanagi in 1975 and consciously created as tableware for Japanese cuisine. Like many of Yanagi's designs, the shapes and forms of this series have a playful yet elegant look. The symbol features overlapping circles inspired by the whirlpools of Naruto, Tokushima.

The functional beauty of everyday products
Sori Yanagi is one of the most respected designers around the world, and his work continues to inspire designers around the world. He played an important role in the establishment and development of Japanese industrial design, demonstrating an amazing diversity with designs ranging from industrial products, furniture, tableware, kitchen utensils and other tools, to architecture and environmental structures.
Sori Yanagi’s cutlery and porcelain designs and Butterfly Stool are in the permanent collection of museums worldwide, including MoMA in New York and the Louvre in Paris.
